Haion has earmarked an investment of Rs 900 crore out of which the company would beispending Rs 300 crore initially
NEW DELHI: The Indian- electric Scooter industry is going to be hit with yet another EV Scooter brand ‘Haion’ which has earmarked an investment of Rs 900 crore out of which the company would be spending Rs 300 crore for setting up its own factory in Gujarat in the third quarter.
Haion, a brand by Powersafe Industry having a joint venture with a Chinese ODM, will be launching 4 models of non RTO Electric Scooter and 3 models of RTO in Dec 2025 across India. The Electric Scooter including Non RTO and RTO would fall in the price range of Rs 39999 to Rs 89999.
“We aim to be the most efficient brand out of all the brands that are operating in the market right now. In the initial three months we will have assembly then we will have Electric Scooter manufactured in India,” said Deepak Sharma, Founder & CEO, Haion.
The company is targeting to be among the top 3 players in India in the entry-level segment by 2025-end. Besides Electric Scooter, Haion will also manufacture accessories including battery, charger and Controller & BLDC Moter .
“The Electric Scooter market is challenging and there are too many players but we’re trying to create our own space. By end of 2025, we see Haion among top 3 brands in the entry-level segment,” told Sharma.
On distribution front, the company has adopted a direct distribution model and is aiming for direct distributors above 1 lakh in every town. Haion will be selling its products offline and will be present online.
Powersafe Industry will go for a multi-brand strategy in India as part of which it is planning to introduce another Electric Scooter brand before Diwali where it will launch 3 EV Scooter in price segment of Rs 39999 to Rs 89999.
. “..first objective is to establish Haion and then in the last quarter of 2025 we’ll have a premium EV Scooter,” added Sharma.
The company is also looking to foray into Electric vehicle Cars after establishing the Haion brand in India.
